Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

That's also why I like towels/throws and not the pellets. I bought a bunch at the thrift store for $1-2 each and they are re-usable. I don't like the added cost of disposable bedding.

Celtic, there is no way my geese will let me touch them. They are semi-wild and very flighty if approached. However, I can take the goslings out to a pen in the yard this afternoon. My neighbors are letting me borrow their dog exercise pen for them and are very excited that I am building the goose flock back up on our property.

They also love the ducks and can't wait for eggs.... and are more than happy to humanely cull excess drakes for me this fall too. We have great neighbors!

I'm trying a new method of putting their water directly on a puppy pad. I'll let you know how that goes.

Oh, and did you see I have 3 gooses coming to me? I'll post it in the goose thread. Because... I am hatching geese again. Good grief, I'm outta control.

i put my water inn a paint roller tray with paper towels

My pullet has been laying some huge eggs, once or twice a week. Double yolkers. I'm not incubating it, but stuck it in there to show the size. Those are turkey eggs, EE eggs, and duck eggs under it from left to right. Poor girl needs an ice pack.
