I ordered one from GQF direct, but after 10 days I called, and found out it wasn't even going to ship until mid week, earliest. I just cancelled the order, and ran to the local farm and ranch supply. At least they had a bator with a fan, and auto turners available. I went to ebay and ordered my goose egg turners. I'll be hand turning until they come, but for a few goose eggs, it won't be a big deal.

I wish I had your bator too.

Runners and a couple look like mama may have been the lone welsh harlequin.

The pekins and single khaki are the ones who followed me home from the feed store.

Now that my girls are starting to lay again, I need to set aside a few of ours for my next hatch. Tomorrow I have to disinfect the incubator and should have all my eggs ready to go in by Wednesday night!

I love my bator! Don't regret choosing that one. Now if only I could afford a second one!

Went to the auction today !

My final days for hatch is this weekend right ! So tossing in AUCTION eggs ~ another 8 American Buff Goose Eggs, & 3 Peacock eggs is alright

Also I got a box today with 5 more goose eggs !

Well I guess I have a plethora of fowl now !!!

5 Mix of pure African, Toulouse, Pilgrim, Giant Dewlap, Chinese, Embden (don't know which is in the 5 eggs)
148 Jumbo Quail
17 Polish Crele (ALL are making it !!)
12 Blue Copper Marans
13 Blue Jersey Giants
8 American Buff goose
3 Peacocks

The new model Genesis is apparently selling out because of the new, bigger window. Go figure. I actually ordered mine not knowing I was going to get the new model.

It's that time of year where peeps make a rush on incubators. Sad that the manufacturers weren't ready for it.

Mine is empty until Wed-Thu. On my agenda:

-Mixed Runners from Holderreads lineage
-12 Black East Indies
-Goose eggs: Chinese and/or mixed Embden/Saddleback. Unknown quantity, less than 6.

What poultry auction do you go to? We don't have one close by. I guess I should consider myself lucky that I'm not impulse-buying.

So been out and about can I get a recap today?

8 of 11 ducklings hatched, one died in shell after pipping, two were sloshy at lockdown. One duckling has a weak leg.

They all had a hard hatch and I helped all but the first two.

It's been kind of slow in here today. People must be out enjoying their weekends!

Three days before hatch, you bump the humidity, stop turning and stop opening the incubator until you have babies, basically.

wow... thats ALOT good thing I have a little bator and a little yard

Hubby says we're not addicted (yet)

We spent the day making a new brooder the duckling are now out in the shed

now the dog wont walk on any more.... he's really got a thing for babies and he's too clumsy for that to be good
