Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

Tell him "one who has better things to do with her time, and better role models."

hahah .
hey they raised me on a darn farm what did the expect

CG: I'm more interested in my animals than friends too. Friends end up makin you mad at some point. LOL.

I would be perfectly content moving far far away where no one can stop in and visit me. I'll just stay all alone with my poultry and my kids.

There is someone stopping by every day here. Drives me NUTS. Because I stay at home.. I guess they think.. "Oh she'll be home."

Thanks for the call letting me know you're coming.

hahaha . you need a gaurd dog (evil smiley)
people wont be so apt to just drop by if there is a dog barking at them on the porch . and if you dont come to the door then they have no way in hahah .

i think im perfectly normal.
granted not every kid wants a mare with colt by side for her 16th birthday rather than a vehicle.
or a hedgehog for her 18th birthday .
but i can rely on animals much more than people!

Hey guys!
Celtic, awesome news about your hubby!
CG, I saw the frame. It looks great!! Looking forward to seeing it finished and cute babies are running around in it.
SM, congrats on getting your eggs! Sadly, no eggs for me, and since she asked me to pay for shipping twice, I requested she refund my money instead.
Cass, I am so happy for your and your new baby!! Congrats!!
You shouldn't have to pay for shipping again. It is not your fault that the eggs are missing. I would ask for my money back too. That is not right at all.

tomarrow is day 20
guess what that means??

onlye 5 more days for itty bitty fluffies!!

To be fair, though, it's not the seller's fault that the USPS lost the package. I actually think it's a good compromise unless there was something else agreed on at the time of sale that covered what would be done in this circumstance. Were these an auction or just a private sale? If it was an auction, I'd go back and read what the terms of the sale were.

Hello how everyone today?

Meet my little Twitchy! Despite his battles, he is doing GREAT this morning. The past couple nights when I went to bed I expected him to not make it to morning. He wasn't really able to use his right leg. It was pulled in close to his belly like it had been when he was in the shell. But when I checked on him this morning he was STANDING in the incubator! I almost cried. lol! My hours of feeding him and getting him clean and fluffy has paid off! I put him in the brooder and got a picture to show off.

I HAVE AN EXTERNAL PIP ON MY PEKIN DUCK!!!!!! They aren't due till Saturday or Sunday. My chickens were suppose to hatch first but some of them haven't even had the air cell dip yet. Should I up my humidity on the chickens? I heard that you don't even need mositure for them. I have it at 33% now. Upping the humidity in the duck incubator now. Will it hurt my goose eggs though? I don't think my African's are fertile and I only have one Sebbie that is dancing inside its shell.

such a cute picture you describe!!!!

and i think grandma is finally getting into the bird thing with me lol.
the day my goslings were due here she called on lunch break to see if they got here ok .
monday she called to see how the call duckling was on lunch break.
she asks how my eggs are doing in bator and how many eggs i got . lol
that or she gave up and just indulges me .

grandpa on the other hand hates it
he says what kind of a 19 year old is more interested in animals and ducks and that crap (insert more colorful word)
rather than friends and stuff.
most parents would be glad their kid had a level head on their shoulders and wasn't "Boy Crazy"

Just picked up 3 orpington chickens! Yay! Their sooo cute! The roo is huge! Like a turkey! The hens are so cute, and small. The hens are blue, rooster is black. So excited for eggs!

My DH thinks hes a tough guy, but the only things he can kill for food are fish and bullfrogs. LOL. I told him (We just got married 19 monthes ago) that he wasn't eating one of mine unless he helps dress some. You have to earn the privilage, is my opinion.
My hubby can bring down an elk, field dress it and hang it in the garage with no qualms, but the mere suggestion of butchering any of our ducks starts a huge argument. I'm not allowed to butcher on our propety. Guess I should be happy we keep mostly runners, no meat on 'em anyway.

Shes so cute!

I hope they have discerned the reason for his recent pain and illness., and he won't need to suffer this again (or you).

Happy to hear you have a new goat, what variety? I milked La Mancha and Sanaan
Hubby got to come home last night, was nice to have him home again.

Have to gather all of the ducklings and deliver them to the feed store this morning. Also picking up a new 6 month old female goat as a new companion to ours that is left in the pasture.

I agree. Why waste a valuable duck, someone who needs him will be happy to suffer his exentricities.

Why don't you sell him? He's pretty, and kinda rare. I bet you'd have him gone today.
