Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

Think Iain or qj should take this

I was told you ladies woul dbe able to help me. i hope you can!!!! I have two call duck eggs that have been wiggling since saturday in the morning, It has been three days that they have been rocking and I still don't have a pip or anything. Should I tap a hole in it to get then started? I don't want them to suffocate. I don't mean to sound like a spas but I have been hand turning them since I set them and I am kind of attached to them. So I hope someone can help with some advice. thanks Jess

So cute! Are those your other Ancona eggs (not the Take a Chance eggs)? I've been so crazy busy the past few days I haven't been able to keep up with this thread.

It's not the greatest pic, because I'm too tired to take more than one. But here are the first 7 babies in the brooder. All arms and legs seems to be facing the right way, and they are eating and drinking well.

I've only done one hatch, so I'm in no position to give any advice, but I did find Pete's incubation and hatching guide very helpful. Have you read it? It's under the sticky tab at the top of both the goose and ducks sections.

Yes, these anconas are from thistle down farms.

The last 2 that internally pipped are sleeping in bator and slowly absorbing yolk sac. The SA is chilling in the hatching position inside its egg.

They rock for 4-5 days easy before they hatch. Have you checked for internal pips?
