Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

Julie thats a bummer about woody =( he was almost there.

And great news about my eggs.
Told u i have good fertility. I would expect 1 to blood ring tho. In every batch of more than 6 ive had 1 bloodring

Yum!

Quoted wrong part. Little squirrel is now Pocket. She is doing wonderful.

I had to pull out a turkey egg and Woody. Both started weeping. Still have 7 turkey eggs rocking, and less than a week to go. Also have clear embryo in 10 of 12 of CG's call eggs, and the other 2 I can see something starting to form, so hoping they are just slower developers.

Looks like the bosses might get lucky and get four Silkies. They are all developing at their own expected rate as they are four different set dates.

Full bators, four different hatch dates not counting the ones that are a day difference.

Ok, experts, if I lockdown an egg (stop turning) a day or two early, it won't cause a major crisis, will it?

Thanks for the compliments! The babies are doing awesome! Will take pics of them all fluffed up in a little bit.

Checked the rest of the eggs in the cooker, as they went through a temp drop when I moved eggs out of bathroom to work on hatching my babies yesterday, and shockingly all duck and goose eggs have good movement and i am seeing good early signs of development in a lot of my newly set eggs too. Next lockdown is in one week for my 5 Cayuga eggs. We will have a humidifier running in the bathroom next time. No more shrink-wrap for me, thank you very much!

DG, how are your goose eggs doing?

Julie, sorry about woody quitting. That is a bummer!

Quackers, I stop turning my eggs by day 22-23. No need to turn when the air cell starts dipping, because the baby is turning inside egg for final hatching position.

OMG ya'all. I just saw my roo try to get some from my EE hen. He was closer to her head than his intended target.

I don't know. He must have quit awhile ago, I haven't been able to see any movement lately but it's been to hard to candle to be sure.
