going to go check the very grumpy broodys eggs to see if i have any internal pips.
i will update when i get back lol.



update: both hens were actually ina good mood today . no fuss lol.
i have 3 int pips under the black hen. one working really good on ext pip.
and all but 1 aircell looks great!.
under the red hen, air cells look good, couldnt see no int pips. but it is pretty light in the barn and i couldnt see the best

2 Turkeys have internally pipped. What's the humidity on turkeys?

I can't believe it. They're all due Monday.

OH.. just opened an Ancona egg and it was NOT fertile.


And not to be weird.. but I was watching drakey boy do his "thing" and well... how do I say this... He's not hitting the mark .. so to speak. He's just like... missing the target.

mine were naturals, from the first moment they layed eyes on the girls i brought home, but a bit rough

one of our refridgerator silkie eggs still is alive LOL

i put 4 silkie eggs into lockdown (out of 28), so i am not holding out much hope for them

egg update 5 day old embden eggs 7 of 10 look good have to wait to see on other 3,
our mixed goose eggs day 12 5 of 8 eggs still going strong
19 out of 28 chicken eggs days 14, 15, 16 still going well

need to find eggs with watches and calenders

and compasses

My first black copper maran chicks I hatched 12 of 16 eggs Shipped to me. there are 10 girls and 2 boys


the 4 infertile eggs with 1 Brown leghorn and 1 Rhode Island Red eggs

do you vent sex them or are they sex linked?

I order 24 Lemon Cuckoo Orpington Eggs well they hatched and I got 16 to hatch 2 had bad legs and didn't make it. there are 7 Males and 7 Females


Below is the only Fertile egg I got out of 12 shipped to me. He is getting so big

they are very yellow

I did a mass candling earlier, which is why I'm up so late. Takes a while to candle 84 eggs.

2 questionable BEI's. Can't see well enough to assess.

my first hatch, 7 hatched, 2 were dead and 1 infertile, i guess 70% aint too bad

Turning 8 weeks next week I believe. I will check dates again. She hardly ever nurses them, and trust me, they know biting hurts

what about cows milk and the puppy?

it is also know to increase the chance of worms

update here SHRINK WRAP

was up until 2 am helping babies, got up at five to feed and water brooder babies and help babies more, left for work at 6:30 and got back around 2:30 and babies looked a little better.
one more pipped wrong end, one went nasty

i have them in my small half bath now with the humidifier going and 4 containers of water in the bator and the humidity is still stuck at 65

i hope the chickens work out ok! they are still running on dry hatch and their humidity is around 50

on better news i got my new mixer last night i will go get a quick pic now
