Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

When I candled last night (yeah, in lockdown, misted sponges right after before closing, and Humidity never went below 70%) some of my turkeys looked very active, so since the buttons from that bator were a day and a half late, I'm just gonna give them another day, and candle tonight again if nothing happening. I assume my other pheasents aren't gonna hatch, since the one is here. Too bad, but I guess that means pheasent for thanksgiving dinner. Having duck today.

I bet they pop outta there today. I'm not sure why these 2 here never zipped. But they were sure happy to have the help. Cute little things.. they're growing on me. Enjoy that Easter duck!

had 2 that were not evn ext pipped yet.

im going to wait an hour or 2.

gona be a long couple of days. but i can now see my babies and check on them every 30 seconds if i feel the need. so my panic is calming down some.
but man are the hens gona be POd.
the black hen will keep 1 egg (its air cell hasnt evn dropped yet, so its a no go.) im hoping she will accept the babiies once everyone is out.
these guys are peeping up a storm now inbetween resting and watchdog riley is back on duty making sure noone hurts them

i sure hope wednesdays hatch goes better, or its going to be a super long week im already pretty sleepy i had a restless night

Marty, based on your toulouse egg... perhaps everything in your bator is 1-2 days behind schedule?

Thanks, Lydia. Happy Easter to you too!

Eyeheart, your new babies are adorable! The duckling in the back looks just like the cayugas that I hatched before. I thought it was weird that most had tan chests but they grew out to be classic looking cayugas.

Speaking of cayugas:

1. Today is day 25 for my 5 eggs. 3 are in lockdown now. I for sure has internally pipped (as verified by steth). I am hoping to move egg #4 over to hatcher today, but egg #5 is either really behind the others or not turning right. Why is there always 1-2 eggs to have to stress over?

2. I saw cayugas ducklings at my feed store yesterday... if my eggs do not hatch.... I will be tempted to buy a few cayugas babies. But will that ruin my non-hatchery quality of stock?

3. Squeak is making the funniest sounds... and sounds more like a girl every day. I am still blown away that it took 9 weeks before she started to change her voice.

CG: Good job girlfriend! Calm down, you'll have babies soon. And a good nights sleep will follow.

Utah: Hmm... talk to Celtic about the feedstore duckies. And why is Squeak taking so long!?

QJ, have an awesome day on the farm!! Hope it is pretty outside where you live! It will be a beautiful day here... so goslings get moved to coop today and I get to weed my front yard's flower bed. I'm excited!

15 eggs now on an assisted hatch plan
