Thanks, Dutch!! She's one amazing girl!! And you really should travel to Utah. The landscape here is awesome, whether it is the red rock canyons to the south or the mountains to the north. There are quite a few horsey adventures you could do, too. I bet you'd love the annual bison roundup on antelope island. We rode in it two years ago and had a blast.

Any updates on delivery of your african/dewlap pair??
Wow, that sounds like a lot of fun! I love NM and Colorado, but I haven't been further north than that. Want to see Utah, Wyoming and Montana, too. I like big open spaces, without concrete and glass buildings. I like Mother Nature's lanscape better than man made infrastructures, lol.
She's out of town I think, and plans on shipping them on Tuesday. It will be cool having itty bitty goslings one more time this year. But sure is going to put a kink in things with the older gang.

Hello Guys!!
I finally have some good pics of my Rouen ducklings and the one with a nice crest. These are out of my Colbalt Blue Drake.
This is a Pic of the Blue drake
What do you think? They are my first hatching of the Rouens. I have another pen with a Green headed drake. Your opinion would be great to help me breed only good quality.

Ok, now I have a more serious issue. The little Seb who is a biter is named Beatrice. Well today Beatrice is very obviously under the weather. She is staying in the kiddie pool and away from the others, she is not grazing much, is even nodding out in the pool. I'm keeping a close eye on her. Her crop area looks a little swollen. Not too bad, but noticeably bigger than her cohorts. Could she have something stuck in there or maybe she has a sour crop. I don't know. No vet available today in our area that sees birds. What are some things I can try? Thanks, Shannon

OH dear. Hmm, makes me wonder if she was biting out of pain perhaps. I'd put her in isolation, and see if shes eating at all or not. She if she's drinking. Whats her poo like? All important, especially if you end up taking her to a vet tomarrow. A girl sebbie is valuable, so care might be in order here.

Let me know what you find out.

She is drinking. A lot. She is trying to graze a little. She is a little wobbly. Mostly water instead of poop. I guess vet in the morning.

I'd be cautious to overwater, if she's having issues. Sounds like something maybe stuck or impacted, and she's trying to get it moving. Try to keep her calm, limited water tonight and tomarrow. I'd report these symptoms to vet tomarrow, if you go.

Good luck!

I'm pretty upset, I took off tommorrow. I'll be at vet first thing. I'll let ya'll know.

Shannon, please keep us posted. Sorry I didn't have anything useful to tell you earlier. My quick research says if crop bound it would be swollen and hard. Possible things to do is offer grit or probiotics to help it pass.
