. They were so aggressive they probably would have made great guard geese! If they hadn't started picking on the babies I probably would have kept them but the babies so far have a much better personality so I decided to let them stay. I defiantly won't miss their biting and hissing but I must admit it was strange this morning to not be greeted by the turkey. Hopefully he's doing well in his new environment.

Well you still have the babies so at least your not completely alone. lol, My Embden can be biting and hissy too, but I have put a stop to the biting, I don't think anything can be done about the hissing, although right now he only hisses at the dogs if they get close no telling whats going to happen when mating season gets here.

I'll join ya.

Yes I'm glad the babies are behaving. I really don't want Bruce to have to be alone. However, she doesn't seem to like her own babies very much. You nipped the biting? I tried everything but it just wouldn't stop them.

. I think Chinese geese are just too moody. I hope your gander stays nice in breeding season!

Bruce is the mother to the babies? maybe it's her name.

sorry I couldn't resist. Oh i doubt very seriously Samson will behave during mating season most don't do they? My Muscovy mama doesn't seem to like her baby too much any more either. she is 14 weeks old now and when I put them to bed mama bites at her some. So far nothing which would make me separate them she just doesn't seem very connected to her.

. I swear I had the worst time when I named them as day olds. So far I've gotten every single name backwards

. So far none of mine have ever behaved. Although the Chinese seem to be more aggressive than certain breeds. Maybe you'll get lucky with a nice gander

. Wow that's too bad. I guess once they are big enough the moms are off the clock

Gave her a small amount of food so she wouldn't fly away then nabbed her and clipped her feathers.
