Drat I think two of my four BCMs are roos! I was hopeful only one was but another one has developed more reddish tint to the comb. Still too early for me to tell on my SFHs.

That was the only thing I could think of. Good luckSo, would anyone know what would cause a duckling to keep its head tilted to one side? One of the ducklings that hatched in the middle of last night is doing just that. I noticed it when I pulled her out of the incubator. She's not walking in circles or falling over or anything, and she gets around in the brooder with the others just fine, but she keeps her head always on one side. I've seen her eat and drink, and she keeps her head tilted when doing that, too. I added vitamins to their water, but that's all I had on hand, so I haven't done anything else for her yet. Any ideas, anyone? She's not even fully old enough to have gone through her yolk, so I don't know if it would be a nutrient deficiency.

And here earlier today I was worried about roos!
My two yellow SFH chicks died today
and I don't know why. The first one was fine and then hours later had passed away. The second was lethargic and limp and then passed away.
. So far the three black SFH chicks and and Silkie chick seem to be fine

Could be wry neck. might want to start vitamins to get it under control fast. could also just be the position she was in in the egg.So, would anyone know what would cause a duckling to keep its head tilted to one side? In other news, all my eggs are hatched but one, and, happily enough, it looks like, so far, I hatched four drakes and eight girls, so how about that! I was worried I was just missing the penis while sexing, so I went back over all the girls, and I can't get a penis to pop out. I get them out on the boys within about 2 seconds every time so I don't think I'm just missing it on the girls - I think I just got really lucky!
In sadder news, the duckling that came with the female duck I got from my aunt might be a drake. I had hoped for a girl to keep, especially since I named the little one after my sweet drake, Coconut, who passed away as a result from fly strike after being bullied severely by another of my drakes. I swapped the aggressive drake for the female and her duckling, because my aunt had a ton of girls and no boys to speak of. I guess if he does turn out to be a he, I'll just give him back to my aunt and he'll have a harem of girls, and I'll just keep another female duckling from this hatch.
Any news on the neck problem? So, would anyone know what would cause a duckling to keep its head tilted to one side? One of the ducklings that hatched in the middle of last night is doing just that.
