73 adult birds total. 35 hens, & 17 roosters. 9 pullets, 7 cockerels.

Wow I currently have twenty-one, fifteen hens six rooster. Although I've put up a ad to rehome three of the roosters.

Soon we'll be butchering 14 birds.

I have more then 7 cockerels, I forgot to include the two Malays. So, 9 cockerels total.

Only 6 cockerels are gonna be butchered:

3 Porcelain D'uccles.

1 Buff Orpington/Heritage Barred Rock cross.

1 Wheaten Crele Orpington,

1 Extra Project Giant Silkie.

This spares the Malays for this project, plus the F2 project Giant Silkie cockerel.

Bantams are perfectly sized for soup.

I'm the same way when it comes to certain roosters, but most of the time, if they can't be rehomed, they end up in the freezer.

I would like to start using the machete, or the Cervical Dislocation method, but my dad always prefers to use a knife that dulls quickly.

I've always put them in a kill cone and cut their head off. Parents don't like change.
