I'll be hatching some meaties, this year.

Gonna do an experimental crossing of EE/Brahma X Malay. Will probably hatch out 12, & keep back 2 for layers(If I don't keep back a cock), & to breed maybe the next time.
I may mix in OEGB, or possibly some CrackerFowl into them to help retain breast muscles.

Got an area cleared where my incubator is, so now I just have to give it a round of sanitizer before I get started using it.

My plan of having broody raised Malays won't work out as planned originally. I would need a separate breeding area for that. So I'll have to wait until the one hen is done raising chicks, or at least move them once they're old enough to join the flock with mama.

Another option is brooder raise the Malays for the friend. But I'd still have to wait until I have access to the small coop for breeding pures though.

While I'm collecting eggs for the project when I start it, I'll collect eggs from Dino, & his sister so I can hatch another rooster like Goober, so I can breed him to Pea.

I decided I would brooder raise these chicks, so I can have the prefab for the Malay breeding group.

Then brooder raise the Malays, & get my project group going.

Goliath, & one of his ladies are separated from the flock for breeding.

Incubator is running, & I have eggs under a broody for a friend. Eggs are hatching the 30th, so that's 3 weeks, & I can start collect the Malay eggs for hatching for another friend next. After that the project begins.

Will probably be ordering Ayam Ketawa hatching eggs tomorrow.
