She'll be expected to squat everytime he gets close, she'll wind up stuck on a nest for 21 days without him bringing her flowers and candy, then she'll have little fluff balls running all over her expecting to be fed, and she'll spend her days trying to scratch up food for them while he's having a fling with the other hens!

well, so much for "the talk." Zelda, my black australorp, has apparently been sneaking around with Conway anyway. i knew Flo had been stashing eggs from me for about 6 days so today i crawled under the house to have a look around..and when i got under there... i saw, with my very own eyes, Zelda sitting on a NEST!! inside i found 5 Flo eggs and FIVE, yes FIVE Zelda eggs! and an enormous softball LMT-EO!

She is only like 4 months and 1 week old!!!!!! now it makes me wonder if Muriel, Ursela, Mavis, and Millicent are all "doin it" too? i knew Zelda was close b/c shes been jumping in a trash can full of pecans i have sitting on my porch and strowing them all over tarnation making a nest in them.

so i have 10 eggs that have been sitting under the house for 5-6 days. i can tell two of htem were laid today. but i guess i'll just chunk the other ones.

i know! it seems like just yesterday i was tucking them in at night and singing them bedtime songs. my girls are all grown up now!
