Tips for boiling FRESH eggs?

I use my instant pot to steam eggs: a cup of water in the pot, 6 minutes on high or on “steam”, quick release, place into the ice water. Peel when cool. Four min for soft-boiled, 5 min for medium.

I do not take the eggs straight from the chicken to the instant pot. Even a few hours makes a big difference.

According to my parental unit, who I gave 4 of the eggs to for her little dorm fridge (long story, we are building house, and she has no means of cooking where she’s staying ATM) and they peeled just fine after a full day and a half refrigerated in shell as well!

@Muscovy Wunda just get a cheap dollar sore steamer basket and a pot! It works fine! This is one of my favorite kitchen tools... I will cook harder veggies like chopped up carrots in the water at the bottom while steaming another veggie like broccoli or green beans (just start the carrots first and pop the broccoli etc in for the last few minutes until desired doneness, you quickly pick up a knack for how long you like each cooked for)

I boil my eggs and then immediately when they are cooked, put them in ice cold water and let them sit in the cold water for awhile. I just boiled a dozen eggs for potato salad. Once in awhile one egg might stick to the shell but most come out good.

Awesome. Will have to try. I usually set eggs aside for a couple of weeks, cover with cold water. Bring to a boil, cover and remove from heat, set timer for 10 minutes, then shock with ice water and they peel slick as a whistle.. they are good as a fancy restaurant's ;)
