Hi all, my silkies are due to hatch on the 7th. Beginning to get very nervous now about doing everything correctly. I only have 5 eggs in my Brinsea and my silkie hens are no longer fertile (rooster removed) so they're the last chance my girls will get at being mummies! Although they won't go broody so incubator it is!

Does anybody have any knowledge or experience to share? I've found the info on here invaluable thus far and I just want to make sure I'm giving my little ones the best chance!

My temps been 37.5 degrees celsius (UK) and my humidity has ranged between 30% and 40%. I'm aiming for a dryer hatch to avoid drowning as much as poss!

Do these values seem ok? I've had advice to lockdown on day 17 as they can hatch early (they are bantams) which I'm planning on unless others disagree?

Thanks for your help so far... Hopefully with all your expertise I'll have a decent hatch!

Xxx

I'm a first timer so I have no advice but
I wish you the greatest luck on your eggs! :D

The 7th as in next Friday? If so that's my ducks due date as well :D

Yep :-) not sure when to put them into lockdown though, day 17 or 18? Bantams tend to hatch early xxx

Ducklings are so cute... I love their little bills!!

Well I guess we are hatch buddies ;) aha and I'm not sure but look around because there are a lot of threads on silkies so I'm sure you will find what your looking for if you just rummage through the threads :)

Yes we are!! Are you naturally or artificially incubating? I've read through but there is diff advice based on what your temp/humidity has been. It's prob nerves though making me second guess! Xxx

I know what you mean aha I'm really nervous but I've done all I can now no turning back now! Aha And I'm artificially hatching I've got a brinsea mini advance :)
