i caught 3 raccoons using duck and chicken eggs for bait. and a few squirrels too, lol. i found out by accident they eat eggs too. my main problem with the trap is that a gun barrel will not fit between the cage wire. sooo all raccoons recieved a special last meal before being ''humanely'' relocated by my mom
1. Choose firearm of choice - a .22 does great!
2. Set Sights.
-Practice if you are terrible or find someone who knows how to handle it-
3. Find correct ammunition.
4. Place in firearm of choice.
5. Wait or Bait until Culprit shows up.
6. Aim. [head, chest/heart/lungs or spine area]
7. Take safety off.
8. Pull Trigger.
First night leave a can of stinky cat food out. After they hit the bait, set out a second can the next night and standby with a lawnchair, flashlight and 20 gauge.
Those DARN VARMITS!! We have them getting on our back porch and eating the cats food. I tryed a .22 pistol but it only drove them off for a while. Finally used my old SKS 7.62X39 with plastic training rounds and they work great at close range, got 3 raccoons and 1 opposum in one night. I dont like the idea of traps...dont want to catch the cats, and afraid of the old timer's poison tricks....dont want to poison the birds, cats or the lazy dog.
I shot 4 the same night with a .177 super high power air rifle. Between the eyes. If you can get them up a tree, they're in trouble if you're a good shot.
