I've actually participated in maggot wound therapy. It's amazing. Was def a learning experience. Many of the maggots died by accident during application. Then on the third day the dressing came loose and we didn't realize it until we found them in the hospital bed.

I'm very impressed. I could never be either on the giving or the receiving end of that treatment.

I love insects and wound care. Put them both together and I'm in heaven. When the head of the wound care team came in with the boxes from the lab it was like Christmas.

mosquitos-VERY NOT OK
centipedes-ok as long as they're not large
maggots- ewwwwwwwwww
Wound care seems really interesting, though. Probably couldn't do it in real life, but I'm always interested in the wounds and treatments in books, articles, movies, etc. Real life too, just not really up close and personal.
