Tis Time for a March 2020 Hatch-a-long!

Yeah I’m crossing my fingers. I should just let him rest in the dark in the bator until he is dry right? I really appreciate you looking for an article. I’m going to keep reading tonight as well and I’ll take action in the morning.

That would probably be ok as long as he isn't hurting himself further trying to walk. Here are two articles that might be helpful. One wrapping the leg and the other also shows a chick sling.

I'm not sure. I think the yellow grey is buff Orpington hen/ sapphire gem rooster. the black one is probably one of my easter egger hens but not sure is dad is the sapphire gem or an easter egger rooster. This was a tester batch for my incubator.
It doesn't mean anything then. Just a marking. It will differentiate sexes in sex linked chicks which are bred specifically for that. I think you have to have a barred father with some solid colored hen but I don't know all the details.

I lost at the last minute. THANK YOU, LORD. We are headed down to south ga for the weekend and I did NOT need a load of chicks showing up. It's hard enough to get your birds looked after without more new babies.

I would like to go ahead and confess that I did go ahead and bid on more. :lau
Where do you live in middle GA? What part of south GA are you going to? We live in Duluth and I'm from Savannah, originally.

'It's hard enough to get your birds looked after without more new babies.' Here I have 2 that just hatched, one egg that I'm waiting one and then another incubator with 17 eggs in it. While at tractor supply this morning, I'm looking at their chicks thinking maybe I'll get a couple. Glad I somehow resisted.

This crossed my mind as well.

And I'm not sure if this will make you feel better but a chicken can manage with one functioning leg if it comes to that but I think you'll have better luck than I did. Meet Peg Leg Pete, just the same. ;)

I'm just outside of Savannah. I think half of the people in this hatch-a-long are in Georgia. lol

I think my chick has a slipped tendon too. Because it’s out of place. I’ll look at that article too.

It’s chirping away. My brooder and the rest of the chicks went outside. This one is staying in the incubator. I hold it a lot and talk to it so it’s not lonely. I took a nap with it on my neck and it kept chirping the entire nap. Was/is it cold or is it lonely?
