Tis Time for a March 2020 Hatch-a-long!

I've had chicks come out and people don't believe the breeds. They swear that all the genetics don't line up, but I know what birds lay what... I know my chickens. Genetics I never have managed to figure out because in my world, anything can happen.

I wonder if part of it is that people forget to account for recessive traits that are hiding in the genes and not being expressed phenotypically. That can really throw some curve balls!

Like I got white chicks with black marks from my black jersey too mating with my Delaware... It's supposed to not be possible because black dominates, but it's like their coloring got mixed up. Only 2 came out like that the rest were black

Eeeeeeeeee. Sulmtaler!!!!!! I’ve emailed greenfire a couple times this year about Sulmtaler availability and thankfully for my pocketbook they haven’t gotten back to me.

If I wouldn't live in Germany I could sell you Sulmtaler eggs a lot cheaper. Just love them!!!
