I don't know why but I love the feathered leg chickens. I guess maybe because most are big so they can handle my boy Squatch. He's a beast.

Long time no see! I just candled most of my eggs - stopped in the middle of it to make this comment. It’s D14 for my silkie eggs and most of them seem to have died. All other chicken eggs seem perfectly fine. The silkie eggs have no more visible veins, no movement, and a big black blob inside of them. What could have happened? It’s only the silkie eggs from my neighbor - my own silkie eggs are perfectly normal. I’m so bummed! Attached is a photo of one of the bad eggs.
I'd say it's the breeding stock. Something genetic or something else.Long time no see! I just candled most of my eggs - stopped in the middle of it to make this comment. Oh no! That's so disappointing, I'm sorry! It sounds like it was something related to the flock from your description. It could be a genetic issue or health related.
Unfortunately that’s my thought too. I’m just so sad about it! I’ll have to recount my live eggs and see how many I have left.I'd say it's the breeding stock. Something genetic or something else.
Good news, though - the local feed store said I can sell chicks and ducklings there!
