Tis Time for a March 2020 Hatch-a-long!

I’m SO mad I have been checking the humidity and it has stayed at the lowest 50. Before I went to bed it was like 55. I wake up it’s 14!!!! I hate this incubator, are my chicks all dead and shrink wrapped inside? Ugh it’s day 20 today.
Should I candle or anything?
I was thinking of throwing a sponge in I have a paper towel but it’s pretty small

Side note... are there any “clean” ducks. Or are they all a wet mess?

Muscovies are the cleanest ducks ever. My Coco is amazing. They can fly though so you either clip their wings or just let them fly. I prefer to let mine fly so she can get away from the drake.

One duckling has nastiness oozing from it's egg, but it's still alive. It's like bloody and brown stuff. Is this normal?

Never hatched ducks before so unsure if they hatch different than a chicken. The stuff oozed to the bottom of my bator

It's sticking it's bill out and seems fine. It's bill is tannish with black markings.

Are they externally pipped?

No not yet. I keep thinking maybe they were trying to internally pip and couldn’t get through the membrane?

One duckling has nastiness oozing from it's egg, but it's still alive. It's like bloody and brown stuff. Is this normal?

Never hatched ducks before so unsure if they hatch different than a chicken. The stuff oozed to the bottom of my bator

It's sticking it's bill out and seems fine. It's bill is tannish with black markings.

No, not normal. Mine hatched like chickens but took longer. Does it smell?

@Rockporters hoping you get all of them to hatch!

Deathlayers and Sebright/Silkie bantam crosses go into lock down tomorrow staggered hatch since the Silver Spitzhaubens are 5 days later. The Spitzhaubens air cells are garbage and will be surprised if any hatch.

With planting garlic, is it true you have to plant them prior to freezing? Fall to beginning of winter? Asking because my son and I are planting everything by seed in the raised beds and would like to do a half a bed of garlic. But will they thrive? Planted kale, cabbage, butter lettuce, beets, green beans, snap peas this last weekend. still have two huge beds to fill

Just waiting for the other half to get the new Kabota tractor this weekend... need to clear the spot in the pasture for corn and sunflower seeds, wood chips for the chickens outdoor run and muddy area are WAY down below. I am not pushing loads by hand through 5 acres in a wheelbarrow!

Elephant garlic grows crazy fast and can be planted in spring and still get good sized cloves.

As long as they haven't externally pipped they will be ok!

I planted my garlic in October when I did my other bulbs. Elephant garlic like @CluckNDoodle said is a good suggestion. You could also try shallots...I have had a lot of success with them going in in the spring. I know that's not garlic, but I find the flavor to be kind of like if an onion had a baby with garlic.
