Tis Time for a March 2020 Hatch-a-long!

I just did the maths I can join this hatch a long! I set 12 welsh harlequin/ maybe black East Indie eggs that sat in my fridge on March second. So they are do to hatch March 30-31. We are on day 9/10 right now and I am down to 7 eggs atm. With 6 showing movement tonight. Really hoping for girls in this hatch because I lost my others to a fox in February.

Here is a picture of the happy egglets

Happy Hatching Everyone!!!

Yes. I think there's 2 olive eggers, 1 flowery easter egger, 3 marans, 1 barnevelder, and 2 wynadotte hybrids. I had 1 clear maran, 1 clear flowery easter egger, and 1 early quiter of something I can't remember. Today is day 19.

Nice! Today is 19 for me too and a Flowery Easter Egger just pipped 😬 So there was a little mix up with my order (which was actually a replacement for my first order which got scrambled in the mail. I paid half price for a second batch which was nice of the seller). I had originally ordered all olive eggers which is what I am most excited about. The replacement was supposed to be half olive eggers and half BCMs, but boxed got mixed up and I ended up with half OEs, and 4 Flowery EEs and 2 Marans. I never would have known about Flowery EEs. I asked a bunch of questions about them because I am trying to decide whether to keep them or sell them. Magicman said the pen my eggs came from were
Flowery EEs (EE x Swedish Flower Hen) crossed to Marans and then those crossed back to a Lavender Ameraucana- there fore my babies should be black. Wonder if yours are the same. What color are your eggs? Mine were like a light olive.
Oh and of course only 1 OE made it to lock down for me. One was cracked and I didn’t set it and then one was clear and 2 quit on me. And with my luck this one will either not hatch or be a rooster. 😂

Oh, and on another note, I just set the 2 dozen BBS Ameraucana eggs I picked up locally this past weekend. 2 had super small cracks I noticed when candling so it’s actually 22 eggs because I left those out.

Waiting from pip to chick is so hard. 😝
The whole process is an emotional rollercoaster, lol. :pop
Waiting through the auction.
Waiting for the eggs to arrive.
Waiting for the first candling.
Waiting through lockdown.
Watching for the first pip, then the zip.

I have 26 eggs in this batch. One zipping, one pipped, and 24 to go. :p
