Tis Time for a March 2020 Hatch-a-long!

I have a Frosted Legbar but no Cream Legbars YET. They're a smaller bird, autosexing, lay blue eggs, and they have a little crest. It's too cute!

I also had 4 eggs in my NR360, down to 3 cream legbars on D14 now and I can't wait for D21 to get here.

Broody hens chick didn't make it. It internally pipped but never externally pipped. I have swapped it for a non fertile egg that looks the same while I decide what to do next.
Incubator eggs are about to roll over to D13 and all look good

Is a Hatcher the same thing as an incubator, but setup for just hatching eggs. So, you would be running 2 incubators, is this correct

Yeah I guess I maybe thought Fort meant non Easter babies? My ducks will be in the EHAL but the chickens wont be hatching near enough to count for Easter.

Most of mine are non Easter. Start the thread

I have been reading some on BYC, where some move eggs to a Hatcher for lockdown. So I was a little confused, I am doing a staggered hatch where when 1st Bach will be on D21 when the 2nd will be on D14. That means I'll have to move those from 1st batch to another incubator

So the chick looked ready to hatch and I opened the membrane. It's peeping but seems to have no motivation to push out. The yolk is absorbed so I just left it in its little half shell in the incubator. I think something's wrong with it. The head looks puffy. Not like the fluidy neck part that helps them hatch, the head. We'll see how it's doing in the morning.

Mine didn’t make it. Now I feel like it was too hot last night...ugh endless cycle of blaming myself. At least it’s at peace. I hope yours makes it

Hey so I’m on day 30 of the goose eggs and so far can’t see any internal pips I candled then and it looks like I could see the yolk on top by the air cell so that one is malpositioned I just can’t see it’s beak.

I'm not sure I could see the yolk sac no matter how hard I tried with my goslings, lol. Hopefully it's in position and you just can't tell yet!
