Tis Time for a March 2020 Hatch-a-long!

I only have one incubator that has all the eggs in it, the 1st batch hatch day is 3/20, batch 2 hatch day is 3/21, and 3rd batch hatch day is 3/28. I will have to stop turning batch 3 on D13 if I get an external pip from batch 1 or 2, if Iam correct

Yes, once you see an external pip you'll have to stop turning the others so you can keep the humidity at a decent spot for the hatching chicks. Once they hatch they'll move the other eggs all over the place and do plenty of their own "turning" while they're in there. Lol

More than likely but I think you will be okay usually the only reason we turn is to prevent them from attatching to the egg shell in on spot but they are usually very active towards the end of the second week so I bet they will move enough to be okay too. For the eggs that are day 10 and 5 I would not turn when the other eggs are actively pipped but you should get a break so you can turn after the first and second set hatches to turn for a bit before the third one is ready to hatch.

My nephew just asked how long will it be before we have meat birds, he told me he went to buy meat for the family freezer and not much in the stores. I told him the eggs haven't hatched yet, then only the rooster will be raised for meet about 16 to 20 weeks :he
I just want a successful hatch

I'm a little concerned that I'm going to end up with 100 chicks myself, lol. I have waiting lists of people that wanted the chicks but only time will tell if they will actually be able to come get them once they hatch. With curfew being enforced in some areas I'm sure it's only a matter of time before it's here too. I told my husband that if it comes to that we're going to need to process some of the birds we raised and I got that, "we don't eat meat, why would I do that?" look. lol
