Tis Time for a March 2020 Hatch-a-long!

I was wrong about the heat spot but this is the thread I was thinking of. Could be helpful. Definitely post pics.

Thanks! I did post pics (post #4015 on previous page) of the three that I removed from the hatcher. Unfortunately, the fourth one looks the same. They don't have the chipmunk striping, and they all have the distinctive head spot.
They are cute and healthy little buggers, but I can't have a rooster. :(

My 6th grade daughter has ADD and high-functioning ASD , and is very introverted, and I've considering home schooling her in the past because she struggles with the structure of school, despite being very smart. Having the kids home has shown me that she would actually do really well with it. Her 2nd grade brother, however, NEEDS TO BE IN SCHOOL. He's an extrovert with way too much energy, and is killing me, lol.

That is awesome to hear! I figured this would actually give a lot of parents a free test run at homeschooling especially for those that had been thinking about it but needed the push

I hear you. We're almost out of creamer for our coffee and I think I'm going to make a trip out to my friend's farm to buy some goats milk for the coffee rather than trying to fight the frantic crowds at the grocery stores right now. If not, I'll just drink it black until things start to normalize a bit.
I bought some extra coffee cream once we knew that s was going to htf, and froze it. lol. The texture turns out a little odd but shaking it really well mixes it enough for me. :p

That's a good idea! I was thinking of freezing some into ice cubes and keeping a bag of milk cubes so they last longer, lol.

When are the emus supposed to hatch?

Emus should be popping out 3/28 to 3/31. Still hoping to get 1. 5 eggs are in the incubator

My daughter found what was left of my only Swedish Flower Hen pullet 😭 She was 4 weeks old. Now have 4 Flower Hen cockerels.

Not sure how the eagle or hawk got her. Their mini run is 2 inch welded wire, and was only to keep them safe from aerial predators since I don’t have a ground predator issue. Didn’t work! Lesson learned 😞

Half way through the video you can see the run they are out in during the day. Will have to modify so it doesn’t happen again. She’s in the small coop at the end.
