Thanks, Henry. Love to see your pictures. Suede's new ladies, Dusty and Smoky, are coming along nicely. They're hard to get pics of, but I'll try sometime in the next couple of days.

Cynthia,

I am going to be building a Mrs. Prissy like incubator.

Then I would actually love a doz that is 1/2 BBS Orps and 1/2 Barred Rock. If you can add me to your list and I will get working on my incubator.

I had been resisting building an incubator, but my last two broodies who sat on 14 eggs between them went wrong. 1 hen hatched none and the other hatched 4 of 6, but one died.

So at the risk of being a hatch-aholic, I am building an incubator.

Thanks,
Ed

Ed, I know we've been talking for ages about getting you some for a broody hen. Seems nothing ever works out when your hens are broody, LOL. Right now, I have just one Blue Orpington hen laying though she's molting, therefore, she's not laying every day. Let me know when you get that bator built and we'll try to get you some, but they'll be heavy on the BR side, obviously. Or you could wait till the other two Blue Orps are laying (they're 13 weeks old) and we'll let you do a fertility test for me.

Given my schedule, it will take me a while to get my batter built and I would love to do a fertility test. I will let you know when I am ready and you can then let me know when your girls are ready.

I definatley want some Barred Rocks also.

Words of wisdom from my awesome Grandmother, sadly no longer with us:
Patience is a virture.
Good things come to those who wait.

I will have some of your chicks some day..... Worth the wait.

Sounds like a plan, Ed. Your grandmother was a wise woman.

Marlon, like Tori posted on that link, Velvet developed a serious sour crop issue and died in my arms as I was carrying her to the house to try to deal with it. I miss that silly girl around here.
