Today's temperature = # of eggs.

Well today was in the mid 40s but blustery. My girls gave me a total of 5 eggs out of 9 hens, For the last 5 days, Angel, Babe, and Blondie have each given me an egg every day and they are all 5 months old. Its my black hens that are slacken. Been getting an average of 3 hen eggs out of those 6 black girls

Today was the calm before the storm. We had a nice 32°F day. I have @ 60 hens some are molting some haven't started laying yet. I packed up 4 dozen eggs today. I'm sure tomorrow will be less.

33 C or 91.4 F and 4 eggs from four Potchefstroom Koekoeks in Johannesburg South Africa, having a belter of a summer here and 13hours 20 min sunlight.

Its too early to go out and check for eggs. not daylight out yet but our temps are warming up. it was 43F when we got up at 5am this morning and will be in the low 50s to high 40s thru the week so lets hope that helps trigger my hens to lay more.

Angel, Babe and Blondie are laying everyday as is 3 of my older hens but that means that 3 others arent laying. Since all my eggs are the same, its hard to tell who is laying other than size. if their pullet sized, than I know its Babe and Blondie. Angel lays hen sized eggs and she likes to give me one fresh every morning so I usually catch her fresh off the nest. My older hens are all Black Sex Links and the 3 laying pullets are BSL crossed with Splash Laced Red Wyandotte.

Hi Tammy N. I cook the oatmeal, sometimes I add dry fruit or hemp seeds or a little flax oil, I make the oatmeal with milk, or add powdered milk in it. I feed my chickens a whole head of sunflower seeds, they love it, at first they didn't know what to do with it, but soon figured it all out! Mine like to forage for grass too, but I read somewhere you shouldn't give them a large amount of grass clippings as it could cause crop impaction.

Temp here has finally improved it was only -15 last night with a high today of -9, unfortunately, I heard the weather was getting really cold again, but hopefully not the -34 we were getting last week. Only one egg yesterday afternoon from Ginger the EE. My other EE Marmalade and her are taking turns laying green eggs, the Jersey Giants are still on egg laying strike!

This doesn't show temperature but it is a cool spreadsheet my friend made for me. It has graphs too!
