I have Millie Fluer D'Unccles in mine for mom too, plus eggs from her many color polish flock & egg layer (multi breeds- mostly mutts pop out) pens for her as well, plus 23 cochin eggs for my friend that is letting me set up pens in his barn for my birds (he already has cochins) Plus all of my eggs........ bought and laid ones. lol- I love the cabinet incubator..... just have to plan my hatch outs right so I don't over fill the lockdown/hatching table top incubator!! All of mom's but the millies are in there with my 3 polish batches- I had to make little wire pens for 3 of the polish eggs groups so I don't mix them up. I left Illia's out in the open as they will hatch first so I can pull those without taking the top off.... I've decided that I won't have this many groups to seperate from now on. Luckily the ones fom Dancing hen will go in after these are out- then it will be just my 2 pens to keep the chicks seperate out of.
My GL split pen has great fertility so far, and the Tolbunt hens with the split roo..... not great % still!

hmmmmmmm you might do an auction..... what lines are yours from again? I'm thinking Bare Ness & Creekside? the only ones of those I have are in the bator from Dancing Hen....... my Tolbunts are from Jim Parker & my splits are out of Green Acre Tolbunts (lol- including my eggs from Illia)....... hmmmmmmmmm have to check the funds when you put an auction up!!
Good grief! Your swamped with eggs! Lol

True.... but alot may get pitched with 1st candling- the cochin egg's shipping went bad- several broken on arrival & a few cracked leaky ones- we don't know how many will be left after 1st candling, plus the 8 millie eggs, and the 22 eggs from my pens that went in on Sun have to be candled too still. I did a brief candle late last night on mine- looks like 10 of the 12 split pen ones are going, and 6 of the 11 Tolbunt eggs are..... the unsure eggs are still in there til 9 day candle (suppose to be the first candle date- but I almost always peek at my pens about 4-5 days in)
Luckily mom's all go to her house on the 5th to be raised by her, and Calvin's cochins (hopefully some will hatch) he plans on putting under a broody hen. My ones from Illia & Dancing Hen will all stay- but my pens babies- only the Tolbunt colored ones will stay. I will be sending off the GL chicks. Since I have a 25% chance of Tolbunt in my spilt pen, and a 50% chance from the pen w/ the tolbunt hens to the split roo (not great fertility in this pen)..... that will take my numbers down on who to raise up.

Sooo..... what Tolbunt lines are yours.....

on a good note- when I went down to turn eggs this morning (yes the cabinet does not have auto turners) I had 1 chick out- wet still, and a few eggs pipped!!

Ok Illia, here are the chicks!....all eight out of ten, what a great hatch!......one picture has the lighter colored ones, and some of the darker ones have some brown too, it just doesn't show.......................................all the best......................................................................chrisf

Does anybody have any knowledge of "blue" Tolbunts. I've hatched out a couple of chicks that are light, and look blue or silver rather than having the brown/black I was expecting. I've seen ads on eBay for someone selling eggs (at rather astronomical prices) but wasn't sure if there really is such a thing as a blue Tolbunt or if it was wishful thinking on somebody's part. What's the deal?

Great hatch- looks like several Tolbunts in there!

Sad you beat me to posting pics from mine from Illia- but my week went way crazy and it looks like Sun before I'll have time to post pics......
She has very great rates though- I had 13 go in lockdown from her and 12 hatch- only 1 dark tolbunt

Adorable chicks! Don't see any actual Tolbunts though. I see a split, a sex-linked golden split, well actually, the top right one might be a Tolbunt if it is brown on the back. Can't tell in this photo. The bottom, second from left one might be a nice mottled, perhaps with some leakage, will still be usable for your project.

Blue Tolbunts "kinda" exist. There's some sellers on eBay I've seen around yeah, but the thing is, Tolbunt is laced mottled. So far of all the blues I've seen, none are actually laced. I've mentioned before and such is always true - You'd need to mate an available blue, in Polish case, a solid blue or most likely than the latter, a WCBlue, into a Tolbunt to get your results, and that's going to be a long road. You'll end up with a good assortment of chicks like the above photos, minus the splits in that photo, and even in the 2nd and 3rd generation you'll still either need to be really lucky with a properly colored true breeding one or just keep working on it. So by "kinda" I mean that to the untrained eye, they do. To the technical, down to the genetic and proposed standard sense, no. Not yet that I've seen at least.
