Tolbunt Polish

Pics
I wouldn't boot them so soon though. It is quite natural for a laced bird especially, in females, to have what appears to be a spiky crest when it's just a difference in growth form and density than say in White Cresteds. Really, a great way to tell is that if they're old enough, especially if their true mottling (versus solid white bits) is coming in, look on the wings and back for glossy and/or toothy looking feathers. Also, males at a young age won't be full of spiky crest feathers. It will start out as a few that will lengthen out over time, and the number will grow until yes, once older and obvious, the crest is filled with pointed feathers.

Not saying they're girls, just saying that it is best to be safe and thorough than sorry.

Congrats sis, so happy for you, but I guess you have to be a special person on here to get any help or any replies, kinda disgusted.... I joined this forum because I THOUGHT it was a place where the people were helpful and friendly, but every time I ask a certain person for help or suggestions all I get is ignored, but I see her helping and talking to everyone else... how RUDE.

I guess it's just another place where they pretend to be nice and helpful until you ask for help, huh? You have been treated the same way by the same person..... I guess it's not worth bothering with, there are other people and other places to get help!! Here I was impressed by this person's knowledge only to get a kick in the face..... not worth my time anymore!!!

JHHust a quick note i placed an auction up for some Tolbunt chicks and a few Citron Hamburg chicks as a surprise! For those interested in the Tolbunts they came from a flock that consisted of one pure Tolbunt Rooster over over three tolbunt polish hens and one gold laced polish hen. One of the tolbunt hens is frizzled and all the rest of the flock is smooth. Ruth

I ordered 6 chicks (3 cream legbar and 3 birchen maran) from a certain well-known breeder and had them flown in to me same day to cut-down on shipping stress for the wee ones. Well, they sent me a total of 15 day old chicks.

Among them are 4 Tolbunt Polish of which I know nothing about.

I know that polish experts are very clever in sexing based on "crest" or something. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the sex of this one is. It is the only one that has this look to its "hat" thingy.

The other three have hats that are more "spikey" looking.

Any help is appreciated.
Smooth hen, frizzle roo...IMHO
