Very cute! Just be aware, looks like that chick might not have much gold in the lacing as it matures. I've got some that look just like him/her, color-wise.

Well, a couple days ago I hatched out what looked like a beautiful silver laced Polish, but it's actually a golden (sex-linked) Tolbunt split from my much loved Silver Laced hen, so, I'm gonna definitely keep and love this guy! Only problem is, he already obviously has a serious butterfly/leaf type comb from dad, which, I really hope to get rid of in the future. My frizzled Tolbunt doesn't have that issue, but, he's smaller too. And I need to amp the size on my Silver Laced hen('s offspring).

Yes, I am aware that this one has less gold color....we will just have to wait and see. This one gets photographed a lot because it is very friendly and outgoing. They are all a work in progress :) I hatched a few with better color, some with other traits...hopefully they will balance eachother out as we go forward. I will pick over my chicks very carefully as they grow up. I am also hatching some tolbunt/gold laced and am raising up some mottled houdan (not hatchery stock) to play around with in my flocks. My intent right now is to put one tolbunt roo over tolbunt and gold laced hens and another tolbunt roo over houdan hens and gold lace/tolbunt cross hens. Then I can see what sort of results come from the different pairings. It is a learning process for me, and I enjoy the challenge.

Does anyone know what lines Greenfire is using?

My ones from Jim Parker are not quite right- I have the gold lace split roo (out of Green Acre Tolbunt hens) over them hoping that will improve their offsprings color, hoping to keep thing not too related. Plus have a split GL roo (hatchmate to roo over Parker line) over it's hatchmate sisters to pull the Tolbunt colored babies.from to use.

Also have a batch from Illia's Tolbunt roos (Green Acres again) over many colors of hens, to see wo hatches out that could work in the Tolbunt project.
And a batch from Dancing Hen (Bare Necessities roo, over 2 Creekside & 1 Parker Tolbunt hens + a GL hen) to help with new blood.
Those 2 are in the bator- so not counting those for sure yet...... and eggs from my 2 pens are in the bator too.

Want to do this right..... just hard to get new lines...... gonna be a lot of growing and culling....

Tolbunts are hatching!! The pures arent laying but my GL split to Tolbunt is;) All her eggs are now fertile!!! Two in lockdown 14 more in bator, all growing. More waiting to go in!!! One was pipping when Inwalked out the door this morning:/ I purposely set them tomstart hatching on weekend today is day 20
