Too Early for Feb Hatch-A-Long Thread??

I hope he'll pull through for you! Was his little head sort of between his thighs? I get that malposition sometimes, not a fun one to deal with. :(

My babies also stop moving when they are messed with and out of the incubator for a little while, they usually start moving when they warm back up.

Here is how I propped up a head between thigh baby that needed help. You can see I pulled the head out of the egg. That is dry tissue paper propping it up.

Yes! Head between thighs and sort of angled weird. So hard to even explain haha. Thank you all for sticking with me. Can’t thank you enough.

Just make sure there's no fluid by his little face so he can breath easily while he's learning to use those lungs. It's the breathing that really helps them to absorb the yolk as well.

Yep I dumped most of it out and will check again in a moment.

I'm routing for your little one! That position is the worst for me, about 1/4th - 1/3rd make it with my assistance. A lot of the time my little ones just don't seem to be able to switch to getting oxygen using their lungs (which becomes apparent when the blood vessels finish absorbing and don't help provide oxygen anymore). I hope your little guy beats the odds, you've given him the best possible chance, you did such an amazing job especially for a first time assist!

Oh and congratulations on doing such a good job with that assist! :celebrate

Thanks so much. I’m finally calming down haha. Baby is all settled in a mug with paper towel holding him up. I don’t see much movement anymore but I’m at peace with it. Whatever happens, great learning experience.
