Too Early for Feb Hatch-A-Long Thread??

I'm going to candle my eggs today and see maybe if I have internal pips. The chicks are heading outside into the brooder in the shed today. Husband is out there getting it all ready for them.

I'm pretty much useless right now. I'm not allowed to do anything besides rest. It's driving me bananas, but when I start doing to much I start feeling awful.

I must admit thsts the reason we try to set for the weekend. So we can be around when they hatch!

I do mine for the weekend too unless I'm delusional from being sick and add eggs without dating them I have no freaking clue when these eggs will hatch and it's driving me mental!

That doesn't work for me unfortunately I work every other weekend so I have a 50/50 chance I'll be working when they hatch. Also if they go early or are late lol.

We are under a winter storm warning today with 10 inches of snow expected. Thank goodness they don’t expect strong winds! I’m guessing and hoping our power will stay on. Day 19 starts at 2 pm. Seeing some more wiggling eggs!

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that your power stays on. We just finished our winter storm with another 18 inches of snow on the ground.

18 inches is a ton! I’m in WI, but where I live we rarely see totals of 15-18 for 1 storm, but for Northern WI, it’s not uncommon!

Love your set up! I just have a tiny Brinsea incubator in our living room. (You know, “I’ll just buy a little incubator because I don’t know if I will want to hatch many eggs ”) The addiction is real, & I am now considering a bigger one & taking over the spare room

It's where Greenfire farms sells all their spare chicks at steep discounts off their website prices.

Just low balling and dreaming for the time being. I won't "get serious" until next weekend after my hatch is complete. Then I'll know if I have room or not.

Wasn't someone building a Pita Pinta flock? They have some well prices chicks selling there now.

Thanks! I started with one incubator too...lol, Then I came across good deals, then my friends started giving me their incubators...and I just welcomed them all, lol. I've actually had, I think 7 different table top incubators come through here now. Finally, little as it may be, the grand Brinsea will finally grace my chicken room.
