Too Early for Feb Hatch-A-Long Thread??

How fun! The same friend that had the Hovabator and I were talking about using an old glass front wine cooler to convert into a cabinet incubator last year but we just never did it. We both have very capable husbands but neither of them wanted to feed our chick hatching addiction. They insisted we had enough incubators. Silly men, lol.

I will share the book with you guys so you can also use it to fuel your addiction. This is the link for the book It was only 4.99 to get the ebook version of it that I could read on my computer.

I think my hatch is over. I candled 2 eggs and am still not sure what’s going on in there but I don’t think either are internally pipped. I candled that lone one remaining from my black olive egger batch and I don’t see movement, just darkness in there. And the aircell seems huge and still wonky. I also candled the Marans that had been rocking earlier. I think the air cell is too small. I remember writing that down in my notes. Is there any action I can take? I’m not sure if I’ll intervene but it’s sad to know it was in there rocking around and can’t get out.

And check out this cute Olive Egger.

That's a bummer. I'm not one to intervene. So I'll let someone more experienced guide you through that if you're interested.

If you're more comfortable not looking in the eggs then I would just leave them in the incubator until tomorrow morning and if there is no further activity then it's probably safe to say they're quitters. Once I get to this point, I'm the type that inspects, or assists if necessary and will start by doing an eggtopsy where you carefully open the egg at the air cell to make sure the chick has definitely passed. Neither way is wrong, but it can be quite educational if you have the stomach for looking in the egg.

@BluebirdHomestead Unless you're feeling spunky and would like to look inside the eggs with some guidance, I'm probably going to drag my sleepy self to bed. lol View attachment 2020321

I miiiight work up to looking in one, but it won’t be until tomorrow night. Haha thank you for being so helpful. Technically today is day 21 and I set them in the evening so I’m going to wait a bit longer. Half of me wants to look and the other half isn’t sure yet.
