Too Early for Feb Hatch-A-Long Thread??

I'm getting eggs from him too! Mine will be here next week, so I'll do those in the march hatchalong. I'll look forward to seeing how your hatch goes.

Oh fun!! We'll have chicken siblings! haha! The eggs he sent are gorgeous!! Thanks, @Magicman1623 !! Hopefully they all hatch because I'm excited about them all! :D Mine should be hatching Feb 29-March 2.

That does blend in really well! Sorry if I missed it, but is it electric? If so, how many live lines or is all of the net live? Nice looking fence!

Because I have the privacy fence around my yard and the predator proof coop and run I didn't feel the need to invest in the electric portion but it can be electrified.

It's actually black, blends in quite well in the wood line. It was actually hard to photograph.

That looks awesome. Your land is kinder for this type of fence. When I go out to check on the girls Ill take a picture of my land so you can see what I mean. Have you ever had a problem with predation from above or anything jumping the fence? I really want to do something like this.

The only thing that has jumped my privacy fence was a deer once, but it was only once. We have all kinds of predators out here...like all of them. Raccoons, opossums, coyotes, foxes, dogs, bob cats, snakes, the list goes on, but none of them have climbed over the privacy fence or gone under it other than the occasional snake. I'm sure it's not impossible for them to do, I just haven't had an issue with it ever, but my coop and run would be nearly impenetrable at night when they would be on the prowl anyway.
(forgive the mess in the picture, I haven't taken any recent photos but this is the coop and covered run, covered in harward cloth and includes a 2' hardware cloth skirt.)

Hawks, owls, and eagles are another story. I have had a couple losses and close calls alike but that's also part of why I was encouraging them to stay in the brush area, the hawks will perch on my pergola and watch them but they don't attack when they're under bushes so far. I had intended to put netting over the top too but I just can't figure out a system that wouldn't get completely ruined from leaves and things falling from the trees all the time overhead.
