Too Early for Feb Hatch-A-Long Thread??

It's out! First chick to hatch. Looks black/yellow in the picture but in person it looks blue/yellow.

Are your turkey hens laying yet? I can't remember when my girl started last year. There's been a lot of action between her and the tom. Problem is I have two egg loving pigs currently running around with them. So I'm not sure if they're going to find the eggs before me.
I started the lights end of oct so we had eggs the first of december. My DD breeds these for her 4-h project and our county fair is in july so in order to be competitive in the meat class they need to be 6 to 7 months old.
most folks are not getting turkey eggs just yet or are just starting. here I have my 3rd turkey that has gone broody, the first 2 have completed their hatches( ok one did a BAD job and we had to rescue the only survivor Nemo) the 3rd just started setting 2 days ago??
I LOVE incubating any type of fowl. I have even been talked into hatching quail for a friend before!
Just returned from the FFA classroom and they managed to hatch 6 chicks out of 48 that I took in and so far 3 turkeys and 5 ducks are out running around today, there was 3or 4 more duck eggs with external pips when I left a short while ago. they started with 7 turkey and 13 duck eggs and 17 that made it to lockdown I would say they had better luck with the turkey and duck eggs!

Some of my favorites!

Love the babies and I love the photo set! I'm going to have to make the little photo chick studio cute this year!! :love
When I was doing a chick photo shoot things went insane 😂 now I just hold them.

My husband is a professional photographer (2nd job/hobby) so maybe I can get him to do some pics for me in the future

I mostly just do a white background for the chick pics and I would occasionally put fun tissue paper (because it's cheap and can be tossed when pooped on, lol) but not much more than that.

We have an external pip! I'm hoping really hard that we have a duckling in the morning. I have been stressing non stop. :p

@juliasflock Those are some gorgeous babies and photos!

@aliciaplus3 Thanks for the info. I just have the one pair of turkeys so I let them do what they want. She's never successfully hatched out poults for me, although she tries. This year I wanted to incubate the eggs and see if it's a fertility problem or something else. I usually just end up giving her day old poults after her brooding fails. She's a great mother. My tom is a great father too. He even went broody last year and gave a go of it.
