This is what I do and dont feel at all that it is bumping.. Personally unless its one person constantly bumoing their own posts then I dont see the problem... I would guess 90% of the time i tell someone I cant help but hopefully someone else can within the hour someone has come along and helped...
Also if i see someone bumping I will kindly explain to them that it isnt allowed before just hitting the report button....

I think its newbie's that do a lot of the over asking. It took me awhile to learn about the search, and sometimes that doesn't give me what I am exactly looking for . . .but I also found out if I wait a little bit, it usually comes up somewhere else or asked in a different way.
