Boy oh boy did this snow surprise me... I watch the bBC all the time and jealous every year of your snow there... here it just drizzles freezing rain all winter but now at last we have sNOW ... and it is piling up and everything is soooooo pretty!!!! Havent had a snowfall like this for years!
Thing is they have no snow tires here so there have been a lot of wrecks and such... good thing is > I don;t have a car!

You are lucky not to be driving - that is the worst bit about snowy conditions. we live in a hamlet on a hill and when it snows we are cut off as we cannot get up or down the hill. We all get together and sledge or make snowmen and it is fantastic. No snow here now though - ice and very cold. My blacksmith is coming tomorrow so i may have a skating pony to contend with!!

I have an entirely different opinion on snow now that I have a large farm tractor. My tractor, Nigella (named for the ample width of her rear-end), is oblivious to snow. Snow trembles at the site of us coming out to deliver the round bales to the animals.

What a brilliant and apt name!! Does she bear any other resemblance to her namesake - can she make a meal out of 2 peanuts and a carrot? Does she ooze sickly sweetness about having her friends round for dinner? Does she make everything foody sound delicious and so easy?

I would love a Nigella here, it is -10 and treacherous underfoot!

"Nigella". Now THERE'S a food network cook worth watching!!!

Sorry to hear the cold weather is continuing, EC. Keep the girls warm...

Oh wow, England must be experiencing global warming....or is it climate change..or it is a new ice age...

English Chick, do they not close your son's school when the roads are icy? Boy, a snowflake here and school is closed!
