Too much ice to go out!! Not used to this in the UK!!

It's the same up here and due to continue for a while I'm afraid. Takes 30 minutes to defrost the car in the morning and then you can't drive the blinking things coz it's too icy!

I hate this. Can I come and live with you guys in the sunshine? I need the heat.

Thank goodness it is slighty warmer today....I did not have to defrost the car this morning.......yippeee....mustn't be happy too long it will probably be back tonight........

Still very cold here in the welsh countryside - I managed to fall on the ice yesterday and bashed my good knee (thankfully) and my pride! Got the horse shod without any skating but carrying buckets of water from the house to the stable is really dodgy!!

Oh dear...is your knee OK? Know all about the water, was having to do that for c ouple of days when all the pipes froze even though they are lagged! have now double lagged them...at least I have water now at the stable block for the chickens.......But our drive way is still like an ice rink, talk about the back end of the car slipping and sliding everywhere.....but its about one degree warmer...but am expecting it to drop like wildfire....having to keep some of my fancy bird inside and locked down with the stable light left on.....my others am going to put to bed really early today.....watch that knee!

Hate winter

. Y'all keep it. Please.
Jacy- Instead of carring water to horse- Use inclosed containers on a plastic sled. Will make life easier.

Sorry to hear y'all are having so many toubles with the weather. I, for one, LOVE winter. It's way too short, in my opinion. We've got a beautiful, light snow coming down right now with 8 degreesF.

But, ice does make it difficult. I hope the roads clear up for you.

jacyjones - How in the world do you pronounce the name of your town? I'm usually very good with pronunciation of the odd town name, but I'm having troubles with yours.

Or did you accidentally put an extra "w" in "Aberyswtwyth"?

Sorry to butt in but as Jacy is offline I can help you. It is pronounced: Abber-ist-with. Welsh and Gaelic placenames are sometimes very weird and wonderful!

Well spotted!! I have never noticed before that I had done that! Aberystwyth - aber - ist- with is the pronunciation of the correctly spelt name!!

The knee is bruised but intact thank goodness. We still have lots of ice although above freezing at the moment. No doubt tonight it will be down again.
