Top of Chicken's head is ripped off

You aren't posting to much. The more information and pictures the better everyone can help. That poor girl. And Poor you for having to go through this. I'm glad a caring person came across her in her time of need
In my opinion I feel like wrapping her head would make it harder to breathe and eat and maybe further stress her out. I'm sure she's very stressed out with all the changes in the attack as it is. I would think the wound would stay clean right now if she's contained and you are treating it Is she eating or drinking yet?

Do what you think feels right. You definitely want to ensure she can breath! :) I made sure not to cover her nostrils when I wrapped mine and I did use a little warm water on a paper towel before applying the ointment. Probably failed to mention that. I treated my Honey’s wound basically the same as I would for a human wound. I was really inexperienced and reached out for help like you. I might not have done everything right but hey! It worked!

mine occurred in January so I also did the wrapping for warmth for her exposed skin. I left it on there for a few days. I was too afraid of pulling it off and doing more damage. But I put (again) ALOT of ointment. I didn’t want it to dry with the bandage stuck to her wound. The wound was literally down to the bone on her skull so pretty much as bad as yours. Don’t lose hope! She can recover. And her feathers and everything can even eventually come back in on the scarred skin. Best of luck!

Very good point also

I personally would not bandage it. If she's crated and on towels or puppy pads rather than any loose bedding it should stay clean. I would just clean it as previously suggested and apply an antibiotic ointment 2 or 3 times a day as needed to keep it covered. You can use plain neosporin or plain triple antibiotic ointment. As long as there is no infection, it will likely heal up fine, but may take some time. Is she missing her upper beak? If so then it may or may not grow back depending on how much damage there is. That will be very painful and will impact her eating and drinking. You may have to hand feed or tube feed initially, until it dries up and is less painful. Once she can feed herself you may need to offer feed as a mash (chicken feed mixed with water) that she can scoop with her lower beak, and raise the dish up to make scooping easier. Using a deeper water dish will also help with drinking, once she's doing it on her own. Some bruising may show up, that may look greenish.
