Toulouse Geese Thread

Sounds like your willing to go the extra mile for her, that's very sweet.
My husband absolutely loves her. He's too afraid to try anything like tube feeding so that will be my job, but I bet she will end up his bird once she's indoors. I figure, I know HOW to help her, so why not? If I can't handle it, I know a few people in town who take in special needs birds - none are really for chickens but she's such a sweetie I don't think anyone would mind.
But I'm also realistic. If she doesn't make it, she enjoyed her time while she was here! Cross beaks don't usually live as long and if they are female (and I suspect she is) they usually lay very rarely, so she will be a nice little pet while it lasts!
I deal Poultry called me about an hour ago to ask if I minded changing the ship date for my three female goslings from May 29 to today or tomorrow.

Three guesses for my reply.

WOO HOO!!!!!! How exciting!!! Can't wait to see pictrues!

Well Missy went in early again this afternoon, I tried to block the door

but she went in anyway, I have a feeling # 52 will be laying in the shavings in the morning. All the other eggs are gone now I took them away. I think she's trying for a world record.

Gerdie took a 3 day break, but she's back to laying again today. I can't believe Missy is still laying!!!
Yay for Gerdie!! Missy and Sammy are hold up in their house hissing because my son is here working on their new house, they are so ungrateful.

I'm not sure if she has laid again since I am the helper I haven't had a chance to go in and look.

My goslings came today! The post office called at 7:45 a.m. - "Your chicks are here."

The box contained three female goslings and six barred rock chicks, cockerels of course.

They are all settled into their first brooder, which is a rectangular bird cage with an EcoGlow, and their feed and water. I will move everybody to a big bin in a couple of days, because those goslings will grow fast.

I'll post pictures later. I just had to get them settled and comfy, first.

The girls are so freaking cute!
