My husband absolutely loves her. He's too afraid to try anything like tube feeding so that will be my job, but I bet she will end up his bird once she's indoors. I figure, I know HOW to help her, so why not? If I can't handle it, I know a few people in town who take in special needs birds - none are really for chickens but she's such a sweetie I don't think anyone would mind.Sounds like your willing to go the extra mile for her, that's very sweet.
But I'm also realistic. If she doesn't make it, she enjoyed her time while she was here! Cross beaks don't usually live as long and if they are female (and I suspect she is) they usually lay very rarely, so she will be a nice little pet while it lasts!
WOO HOO!!!!!! How exciting!!! Can't wait to see pictrues!I deal Poultry called me about an hour ago to ask if I minded changing the ship date for my three female goslings from May 29 to today or tomorrow.
Three guesses for my reply.
