Toulouse Geese Thread

The heat is so bad its killing the livestock. Lost a rabbit and a Cayuga duckling today. Thank you for the welcome. I'll see if I can get pics tomorrow.
I'm so sorry, if you can use a fan in their area [not blowing right on them] but it will help circulate the air and may help till the heat wave is over.

I'm so sorry! Dealing with the heat is really tough. I don't know how those of you with large herds/flocks handle it! I have just 2 rabbits and a small flock of chickens and they have 2liter ice bottles switched out twice daily, a misting system, and a chilled water system. I can't imagine doing that for a larger set up. We have been hitting record highs up to 110 around here.

Ya'll have been getting the heat, we have been getting flooding rains and cooler temps. Hope the heat wave breaks for ya'll soon. and no one is close to the fires going on.

I forgot pictures!

Enjoying the sun

Making new friend LOL

DH devised a fantastic contraption that allows trina to wander in and out of the pool, play in the grass, and not be able to eat my mothers vegetable garden along the wall - she wears her elastic swimming harness with the elastic swimming leash so no matter how fast she runs at the leash it gently slows her down, attached to a 30 ft retractable Xtra small dog (I think it's for less than 10 lbs) leash. Works great! The leash is light, there is almost no pull on her unless she reaches the end, and by having it hung from up high it doesn't interfere with her wings.

Everybody needs a little Goose Butt =)

Noise level of a toulouse goose?
I have wanted a goose forever and there are some of this breed local. A year old and a decent price....
We live in the city though and have chickens, Muscovy ducks and Nig. Dwarf goats so have some noise....not to mention running a daycare and teen boys plus dogs.

The mellow attitude of this breed is what led me to them....just wondering about the noise level and is it consistently noisy.

hi, I have three Toulouse geese, just under a month old, and three Embden, same age. They are growing really fast. I wasn't prepared for how fun they are. They make me really laugh! As soon as I figure out how, I'll post some pics.

I can honestly say my Toulouse goose is not very loud at all, she and the Embden gander can go at it at times but I'd say if you already have all the above your noise level won't go up that much more.
