Thanks Miss Lydia! I sure would hate for the 60 or 70 day old birds from our Cackle Hatchery Surprise to be lonely without this goose or ten that my wife wants to add!!! I pick them up this Thursday!

I think that the only odds in my favor are that I have three geese. Two of them are beginning to hang out together and the third is trying to be a duck. But one of the Khaki Campbells ( I think the male) is trying to pick on her and drive her away. Guess my plans for a separate goose pen and run will have to be moved up in priority.

Ive wanted dewlap Toulouse for several years but no one in any sort of driving distance I can find has them. Ive steeled myself to order some hatching eggs this year but dang, the prices they go for on the auction sites..I don't mind at all paying for quality birds/eggs but the bid wars get crazy..

Have you looked on your state thread and also the buy sell trade thread here on BYC?

I've been selling eggs to byc members all season for $15 each, plus shipping.

Hey, everyone! I have a goose that just started setting on eggs and I'm wondering if flock raiser would be a good feed for the goslings when they hatch, or should I feed the mama and babies a non-medicated chick starter instead? Also, should I start the babies, and therefore the hen, on niacin as soon as they hatch?

flock raiser is better for them than chick starter :)
I don't think they need the extra niacin if on the flock raiser someone else may know otherwise though
