Toulouse geese

We have 5, 4 week old Toulouse. And I have no clue how to train them. We were told that this kind of breed follow you around and are nicer than others, not on mating season, I just need guidance.

What are you wanting to train them to do?

Some geese follow, some don't. If you want them to, let them get used to you by hanging around them a lot and giving them treats. Usually the followers start out as hand raised goslings that see their raiser as their mother.

Did you just now get them? Best way in the world to train geese at a young age is by spending time with them giving out treats. Try some yummy romaine lettuce shredded , mine love romaine lettuce. Always have chick grit available when offering any thing other than their starter.

We got them last week.

Have they been socialized at all? Poultry don't like to be chased or handled but they can be picked up and cuddled at that age if they are use to interaction with us humans.

Best way to get them to trust you and enjoy your company is to just spend time with them just walking around or sitting with them. They are curious so they'll come around it just takes time.

Goslings of any breed will follow you if they imprint, but if they haven't had human interaction then they won't be keen to be around people or be handled. Best thing you can do is try to win them over with treats as Miss Lydia suggested
