Tractor build overkill

Not intending to use slides, simply build a drawer with 4 sides and a roofing sheet bottom. Allow the sides of the drawer to fest on a piece of 1x lumber across the framing. I have not installed the drawer framing, will show what I am describing later. Floods returning to my area overnight, will be a bit

Gave up on drawer. Framing is in place if I change my mind, with mini Al changes required to make one happen. At a slowdown right now because of other projects, but still creeping forward. Will post series of pics when I figure out how to save my work in this site

Slide out trays sound good in theory but when they are 4x4 or larger they are a pain to maneuver. Our coop kit came with a tray under the whole main area of the coop. It does not function well at all.

The only way I think anything that large would be functional would be if it was more like a pull out that you then scraped off. And you would need some fairly heavy hardware for the slides to make it work. Expensive, challenging to install, and would it really make things that much easier to clean?

Also very eagerly awaiting pics and further details of the build! When it comes to most things chickens I’ve noticed a theme of delays, delays, super crazy busy, and back to delays.

Not necessarily delay because of anything more than other things that have to be done. I am building with scraps to hold cost down, but have to fill in the blanks with new

Trying to post pics..having a bit of a problem. These are all that loaded. One is the roof framing of the run, the other is the storage/brooder area at the end. Still have to put the rest of run framing in, roof and wheels, and wire for heat Trace and lamps

Looking great! Once you upload the photos you have two options, “thumbnail” and “full image”

Also if you take the pics in landscape orientation with your phone sideways I like that better for the “full image” shots. They also let us see the details more clearly. It’s a little fiddlie and annoying to work with at first!
We can just click on your pics though to see the full size, so it’s not a huge issue!

Trying again! Still under construction, but working 7-12s, nights. Before I came in today, worked a while on the netting. Chickens were out, and tried it out
