Tractor Supply Chicks

Hi, Our TSC here in Al., gets thiers from Privett. They only carry a few breeds in stock at the store, but are always glad to place an order for you from Privett...at least thats what they told me !

My tsc (OHIO)said they would be in the week of the 5th but when I stoped yesterday they had the duck but no chicks the lady said the ducks hatched early so they got them early so I would just stat to call them.

I stopped at TSC on the way home from work tonight and asked them what breeds they will have (next week.) The kid I talked to didn't know, but did find the information for me. RIR, Plymouth Rock, plus a few others. They also ordered a "hatchery assortment." I assume that means they will all be in a bin together and you will have no idea what you are getting till they feather-out.
They use Mt. Healthy

Also remember that the person you speak to may know nothing at all about the chicks. (I asked if their chick starter feed was medicated, and was told "No, the chicks come all set. They don't need any of that stuff")
Ok...............

Well, just my luck, no chicks today, something about an error with the shipping.

I guess I'll call back tomorrow, but, I don't want to call so much that they think I'm crazy!

The ad says just for a limited time. Doesn't specify the breeds.

yeah, just be forewarned, you won't necessarily get the chicks you think you're getting when you buy at TSC. ours are perfectly healthy (our Kentucky TSC stores order from Mt. Healthy Hatchery - every region appears to order from a different hatchery). But the salespeople at TSC are somehow able to mix up chicks in the same bin even when the boxes are clearly marked with the breed and the tubs of chicks are clearly marked.

I really only recommend buying from TSC if you're totally okay with getting breeds other than those you think you're getting. My five buff orpingtons have turned into 3 white plymouth rocks and 2 buff orpingtons, and my five silver-laced wyandottes became easter eggers, and my five gold-laced wyandottes are 1 barred rock, 1 gold-laced wyandotte and 3 mystery birds!
