My 9 week old Tractor Supply Chicks :)

Mostly leghorns I believe. The 4 reds are probably production reds or so I've been told.

Leghorns are still not my favorite. They are spastic and all over the place!
The red ones are calm, sweet, friendly birds.

The white cockerel is king. The red one is at the bottom of the pecking order.
Not sure which cockerel we will keep, if either.

How many birds did you get? I'm counting 14?. Were they straight run? If so and you got only 2 cockerels, that's amazing odds.

There are 18. We asked for pullets. Two are cockerels.

11%? That's about the margin of error for sexed peeps.

That's good if you ask me! I bought 8 all were supposed to be pullets and 5 ended up being cockerels.

If I bought 18 and ended up with only 2 I would be a lot happier.

I must have gotten lucky. I got six straight run. One died but of the other 5, only one is a cockerel (And my husband is thrilled about that.) Then 1 out of three.
Almost makes up for the 70% cockerel rate I hatched last year.
I have a broody sitting on eggs now and don't even want to think of the breakdown of the sexes.
