Tractor Supply Chicks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

they aren't silkies (the two in the third picture) probably bantam Cochin's? Does TSC carry those?maybe the hatchery had a rogue non-silkie make it to one of their silkie hens, lol
How many toes do they have?

I had the same ones from my TSC. We have learned that they may be Milie Fleur D'Uccle's.

One of mine turned out to be a booted bantam. find out which hatchery they use then go to their website to find out what comes in their bantam variety packs. it helps narrow it down

I wouldn't call it a large national chain like Walmart, but if you have it less than 24 hours and the chick dies they will usually let you exchange it. It seems everyone likes to attack TSC and the employees, but most of thepeople who work there have never dealt with chicks and are there because it's a job and that's all. When we get chicks in, we go by what the hatchery prints on the invoice. The box says assorted bantams or assorted pullets, that's all the information we have. As for knowing when the next order is coming in, we don't know chicks are coming until they call us from the post office. We submit an order in like January with the breeds and such and they send them out as they come available. At my store, we get the chicks from Privett. A lot of the orders have come in with numerous chicks already dead. We don't control the health of the birds and we do what we can to keep them healthy but there is only so much you can do. If people are unhappy with the TSC birds, why keep buying them from there? Order straight from the hatchery. TSC is a retail store and chicks are just a small part of that store for a very short time, employees come and go and most are working there simply because they couldn't find a job anywhere else. I work there because I get a discount on my feed now and I can't find a job as a vet tech. Sorry, I just get irritated when people start running a place down without knowing the full story.

Well said! I have purchased about 45to50 chickens and ducks from my local TSC in the past couple years. Every bird they I've gotten has been healthy and done what they were purchased to do. I will continue to buy from TSC every year. I love people that turn their noses up at feed store chicks. Some of us just want some chickens to lay us some eggs or feed our families and I think its great we can get them straight from a store and not have to deal with the shipping and what not. Just point and say that one oh oh that one lol

I am new to the world of BYC and just joined tonight, we went to our local TSC to check there chicks over atwoods when the two guys after being asked about the breeds replied we don't know anything and if the were sexed, replied its a 50/50 or get pullets, I said never mind. TSC was nice, had signs of the breeds with a short info of each, what were good egg layers, how fast the grew, our selection if can remember, were red pullets, think its wyandotte's, RIR, there some white pullets but they called them something else and another bin of something I can't remember which. The girl that helps us was nice, and checked each chick as we told her we were only allowed hens in city limits. Even asking her questions for other stuff she was nice and helpful, but also honest. I would go back to TSC if I had too, I do have a small local feed store I had forgotten about, I will need to stop in there in a day or two and check them out and see what they have if anything.
