Because EE are “mutts” I’m hoping some of you can confirm for me that these are still looking like EE and the possibility of getting colored eggs out of them. :)
ive read some people think their legs need to be a different color than the yellow.

Very small town TS. The store got them from a local Easter egger breeder. Breeder didn’t even have a website. I’m starting to wonder how they are looking.

All have orange/ yellow legs.
The two lightest colored ones have no tail feathers, more of a bob tail.
Is the bob tail a good sign of a specific breed?

Thanks! 🙏

Has anyone ever had a yellow legged mix lay a green or blue egg?
Yes. Here are some of my current layers as chicks last year. The light chick in this photo is Peaches, a prairie bluebell egger. She lays a blue egg.

This red one is Sammy, my Whiting True Green, who lays green/light olive.

And the dark chick crouched down in this photo is Saffie, a Whiting True Blue who lays the bluest eggs I get.

EEs have green/dark legs. I think these are just another type of mutt/backyard mix.

As of late Tractor Supply has shown they don't care about much when it comes to their birds, so I wouldn't put it past them.
Alot of places also label EE's as ameraucanas, some variant spelling misleading as ameraucana, or "rainbow layers"...... or just say what it is a marketing lie or misrepresentation.

I quit a long time ago buying any of those hoping to get blue, green, or any other color eggs. Majority always ended up cream or regular brown eggs.
