Traded one of my roos for a pitiful looking frizzle hen!

I wish you luck in this, Maidservant!

I do rescue for a few exotics ..reptiles, arachnids, some furries... and it is all too sad ...and all too often.. that I come across someone not caring for the animals properly.

If I could get my DH out of this forsaken city livin' ordeal, I would try to do sooo much more for so many more animals ...farm animals, included!

Every little bit that we are able to do, is better than nothing at all ..in my opinion.

Get those pics and maybe someone on here will offer to lend a hand in rehoming some of the animals. I'm sure someone lives within reasonable driving distance to you ...and "trains" are great ways to transport safely and with less expense.

Good Luck! ..and I can't wait to see MiaBella in full plume!

Just got a second egg from her a few minutes ago. I've got some egg shells from breakfast drying so I can break them up and give them to her later on today or tomorrow.

And she eats two soup bowls full of food per day! I hope she slows down soon, even the bigger chickens don't eat that much each! She got about 25 mealworms this morning, plus a few grubs I dug up from the compost pile. I'm checking on her about every hour during the day, I'm a worrying mother! lol.

Sometimes a frizzle x frizzle breeding can cause a mostly bald chicken, could be this is just what her feathering will be. I hope she fills out for you some more though! Poor gal! Very lucky she has you!

I plan on it, I just want to try to get as many animals away from him first. If they go to the shelter, they will be killed upon arrival. They do not hold animals at our shelter, that's why I hate it so much. If the USDA had more inspectors, I'd just call them. At least they would try to find the animals homes, but they only have one inspector for my state and 3 other states.
