Trader Joes & Other Grocery Store Egg Hatching Club - Are you a Member

Baby #2 is here! Pictures in the morning! Thanks guys, this is so much fun!
Isn't it absolutely amazing?!?!?! :weee

Something you could have so casually eaten 21 days earlier produces a living, breathing creature - and it's so darned CUTE, too!

What's really clever about hatching TJ's eggs is discovering a WL pullet's first egg when she's only 16 - 20 weeks old....and she makes one almost every single day. You don't have to go to the store for them AND they're much better tasting than those produced by their captive aunties at the factory farms.

But the best part is having a new baby chicken you kinda, sorta, pretty much "made" yourself. It's awesome.

Most of my flock are my very own GrandChicks :love - generations of chickens from small, ovoid breakfast items diverted to another purpose.

Hatch-a-longs on BYC are freaking awesome, too.

I hear there is also going to be an Easter hatch-a-long too... I want to build my own bater for this one.
I Really want to try hatching store eggs, but in San Antonio TJ and whole foods people think I'm crazy....
I do have a roo now...

You might want to crack one of the Whole Food eggs open to see if you have a fertility bullseye. It could help determine if you're on the right track.
